We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to work for a leading transport and distribution organisation based in Wigan (WN4). Monday to Friday 10am-7pm. Salary band GBP26,000-GBP32,000. 31 days holidays to start with and other great benefits on offer.
Responsible for the execution of Day 2 transport planning.
Planning customer deliveries and collections with various sizes of vehicles from Class 1 to multidrop vans.
Vehicle planning, creation of manifests, briefing and coordinating drivers.
Same day/Next Day/Freight cargoes.
Coordinate and provide support and information in the running of safe and efficient operation.
Working with clear guidelines to help achieve the operational standards and defined outcomes.
Able to utilise every opporttuinity i.e.reload
Liaising with customer services department regards live issues. Troubleshooting.
Daily reporting to Management.
Requirements
Transport planning experience is ESSENTIAL.
Fluency in transport legislation i.e. drivers hours, WTD and other.
Good georgaphical knowledge to optimise planning routes.
Confident working independently.
IT Literate, with transport planning systems & microsoft office packages.
Able to communicate at all levels, internally and externally.
Commercially minded i.e. cost savings, increasing revenues, identify and seize.
