We are working with a medium sized agent who is looking to recruit an Ocean Import Clerk

Roles Involves:
- Follow-up on operational import flow (Primary Job Function):
o Check and confirm bookings with customers.
o Provide carrier booking instructions.
o Check pre-alerts for complete information and inform customers.
o Check the vessel arrival status and inform arrival notices to customers.
o Check the HBL/MBL status to ensure proper release of shipments.
o Prepare customs clearance in a timely and accurate manner.
o Prepare trucking orders in a timely and accurate manner.
o Collect PODs after delivery is completed.
o Report on all kind of exceptions to customers or counter offices.
o Update milestones timely in the system.
o Update all POs for vendor payments timely in the system.
o Create and send invoices for timely and accurate billing as per company standard.

- Follow-up on operational export flow (Back-up function):
o Process supplier bookings and inform overseas stations when applicable.
o Process carrier bookings based on vessel schedule and rate agreements.
o Process export customs clearance with suppliers and customs broker.
o Process pre-carriage with selected trucking vendors.
o Process HBL/MBL draft instructions.
o Process final BLs after confirmation and vessel sailing.
o Process AP/AR billing to complete the files.
o Create complete pre-alerts to overseas stations and customers.
o Report all kind of exceptions to customers or counter offices.
o Update milestones timely in the system.

- Follow-up on cross-trades flow (Back-up Job Function):
o Closely monitor information flow and milestones from origin and destination office.
o Inform customers about schedules and exceptions.
o Complete AP/AR billing as per company standard.

- Other Important tasks in the job scope:
o Ensure completeness of files (digital and hardcopies).
o Ensure clear SOPs and documentation together with the sales team for excellent customer implementation.
o At all times communicate with customers, vendors and Morrison staff in a proactive and professional manner.
o Support (inside) sales with obtaining or quoting rates when requested.
o Prepare or verify reports after request from management.
o Conduct a proper file-check to ensure timely and accurate figures in the monthly closing.

Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.30pm 1 hour for lunch.
Salary depends on experience.
