Experienced Ocean Export Operator is wanted to join International Freight Forwarder, South Manchester based.Specialist in innovative supply chain solutions including ground transportation, air and ocean shipments, customs clearance, and end-to-end logistics. Permanent position. Salary GBP28,000 -GBP35,000 depending on experience with many benefits to gain. Join us and advance your career in a fast-paced, global industry!
Duties:
Support the Sea Freight Manager and Team Leader in executing departmental goals for competitiveness and profitability.Ensure timely and accurate completion of Import, Export, and Cross Trade activities, including customs declarations.Report errors in customs forms to the line manager immediately.
Complete customs import declaration forms correctly and ensure all invoicing and operational tasks are on time.Conduct weekly spot checks on documents and maintain the operational system.Charge duties/VAT correctly and ensure timely collection of payments as per SOPs.Maintain strong client communication, report new sales leads, and assist in SOP creation and maintenance.Follow up on late payments with credit control and ensure accurate quotations are communicated and recorded.Implement workflow efficiencies and ensure approval for goods under Companys Deferment account before release.Procure Ocean Freight rates from shipping lines and co-loaders monthly and complete deviation forms per GDP compliance.
Drive business development to successfully move Sea Freight products.
Requirements:
Proven track record of Ocean Exports Freight Forwarding.
Experience in road transport, logistics or haulage (Desirable but not essential).
Working knowledge of the CDS system both Imports and Exports.
Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Ms Excel and other Ms packages.
Must be able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible with their working hours to meet industrys requirements; occasional weekend work based on volume.
