Our client is looking for a Logistics Coordinator with 5 years previous experience in Multi-Modal Imports and Exports and Crosstrade

Main Purpose:
Managing and coordinating the transportation of goods via airfreight and ocean freight, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with regulations, and efficient customs clearance. You will liaise with clients, carriers, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth import and export processes. The role demands strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate Import and Export Operations: Manage the end-to-end import and export processes, including booking cargo space, arranging pickups, and coordinating delivery schedules.
Prepare and submit customer quotations: Receive customer quotations via varying methods - email / online portal. Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframe. Track success/failure rate of quotes, reporting back to management
Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on shipment status, resolving issues, and addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally. Build and develop strong relationships with customers.
Carrier Coordination: Liaise with airlines, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and other transportation providers to negotiate rates, track shipments, and resolve any transportation-related issues
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with airfreight / oceanfreight shipments, such as delays, damages, or customs disputes, by implementing appropriate measures and contingency plans.
Cost Management: Optimize transportation costs by evaluating shipping routes, carrier options, and service levels to achieve the most cost-effective solutions for clients while maintaining service quality.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings within the airfreight import/export operations, and implement best practices accordingly.

Essential Criteria

Knowledge:

Industry and operational knowledge of Ocean import, export and crosstrade.
Incoterm Knowledge
Pricing / Quotation experience
Managing of suppliers
Customer service

Skills and Abilities

Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
Strong numerical and commercial skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Proactive, team worker with excellent time management skills.
Enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated

Desirable Criteria

Knowledge

Airfreight Import, export and crosstrade experience
Dangerous goods certification.
Descartes customs system experience.
Customs clearance knowledge.

Skills and Abilities

Identify Opportunities for Market growth and development.

It is a Monday to Friday role and due to location a car driver is preferred.

Salary GBP30K to GBP40K depending on experience.
