We have an exciting opportunity to join a well established Freight Forwarder.

Principal Accountabilities/Tasks
1. Ensure that potential clients are profitable and margins are maximised via quotes and
tenders.

2. To plan and implement a programme of visits to existing and potential clients to
create and maintain awareness of the companys product range and to ensure
complete client satisfaction. Must have own portfolio of accounts.

3. To abide with UK law, and policies and procedures set by the company.

4. Provide information on market opportunities and competitor activity and to assist in
the development of products and marketing plans.

5. To be a good colleague and maintain a professional approach at all times.

6. Provide technical support to clients, liaising as necessary with technical advice and
guidance.

7. Identify sales opportunities and negotiate within established policies to obtain
orders which meet sales objectives covering volume mix and margins.

8. To achieve target revenues as set out by the company. To develop a list of potential Target
Accounts who have regular business which can be approached throughout the year as the back
bone of all sales activities. Ideally to win their business.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills & Experience - including technical competencies
Highly numerate and literate
Excellent understanding of Import/Export procedures and principles
Being able to quote both ocean and air import and export including surcharges an advantage
Targeting appropriate companies, monitoring sector activity and arranging client visits in a methodical manner
Winning new business and retaining/expanding existing business
To produce accurate monthly target revenue reports plus Weekly Sales Plans, Target Account list and production of Sales Visits Reports via CRM in Netfreight - to be input on a shared drive
Track record of achieving sales targets
Preparation of tenders, responding and completion of tenders a requirement
PC skills in word processing, spreadsheets and presentations
Confident, articulate and well presented
Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
An understanding of the HMRC regime an advantage
Working closely with the Internal Sales person to help improve sales leads / opportunities for the company.

Salary Band: Open & Negotiable - Depending on proven sales track record

Monday - Friday - 09:00am till 17:30pm
