Business Development Manager – Automation
Offering a salary of £45,000 - £50,000 per year, depending on experience. Bonus structure to be discussed upon interview.
This is an external sales role, where the successful candidate will be covering the Southern region of England. You will be required to travel, so a full UK driving licence is required. Company car provided, with an expenses card.
Experience in Automation essential.
Our client, a leading company within the automation industry, with a focus on Motors, Generators and Transformers, are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their successful sales team.
Office hours are 39.25 hours per week, with a 3:00pm finish on Friday.
Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
- Utilise product and market knowledge to achieve sales growth and exceed KPIs.
- Create and follow up on sales quotations, liaising with regional sales teams to secure sales orders.
- Provide technical training to customers, both internal and external.
- Provide technical assistance to customers and colleagues.
- Evaluate customer specifications to provide written quotations.
- Generate reports on market findings and products to support sales activity.
- Increase sales of low-voltage automation product range, targeting new and existing customers.
- Expected to be OEMs, but may also include distributors, solution providers, panel builders and end users.
Knowledge and experience required for the role of Business Development Manager:
- Strong working knowledge of low-voltage Variable Speed Drives, Soft Starter and Control Systems implementations.
- Experience of the automation market and customer base.
- Knowledge of EMC directives.
- Knowledge of harmonics.
- Knowledge of rotating machines and associated control and protection systems.
- Qualified to ONC or equivalent in a mechanical/electrical subject.
- The ability to work under pressure and make sensible decisions.
Desirable experience:
- Working knowledge of calculating energy.
- Working knowledge of programming PLC systems.
- Knowledge of gearboxes and the transmission market.
- Good knowledge of machinery safety.
- Working knowledge of electrical wiring.
