A leading organisation in the maritime industry is seeking an Import Customer Service Representative to handle the onward movement and releases of all cargo arriving in to the UK. This position is a very demanding role and requires applicants to be able to work under pressure, whilst maintaining high levels of customer service and accuracy.
Receive the delivery/release instructions via phone or email
Input the deliveries/releases onto system including any special instructions
Ensure that all relevant invoices are issued in line with specific customer agreements and that all outstanding monies, documents and releases are in place prior to release of cargo
Quotation of rates relevant to specific shipments
Check customer rate agreements and liaise with sales team
Arrange Diversion of Cargo in line with company policy
Routing of Cargo where suitable with aim of minimizing costs
Previous Import experience either gained within a Shipping Line or Freight Forwarders would be an advantage.
